Guest Card

Guest Card lets first-time guests tell your church they're coming. They give their name, email and which service, and your team gets an email right away. The guest gets a confirmation with the time, your address and what to expect. It can sit on a Plan a Visit page, or open from a floating button or a banner on every page.

Live preview

It's on the Website plan, and works with any website. No ChMS is needed.

Using MinistryPlatform and want the guest's household created there? Use Plan Your Visit instead.

Supported providers

  • Firesky: guests are saved in Firesky and listed on the widget's Guests tab.

Setup

  1. Add Guest Card from Add widgets.
  2. Open Dashboard → Widgets → Guest Card → Settings:
    • Pick the optional questions guests see: mobile phone, who's coming, how they heard about you, and anything you should know.
    • Add up to 3 questions of your own (short answer or a choice).
    • Write What to expect: parking, kids check-in, how long services last.
    • Turn the Confirmation email to guests on or off.
  3. Under Alerts, add the email addresses that should hear about new guests (up to 10).
  4. Set up Service Times if you haven't. Guests then pick from a list of your real upcoming services.
  5. Add your website to Dashboard → Settings → Allowed origins, then add the embed code to your site.

buttonA floating "Plan your visit" button in a bottom corner. It opens the form in a dialog.

Examples

Your Plan a Visit page:

html
<fs-guest-card heading="We'd love to meet you"></fs-guest-card>

A floating button on every page. Put it once in your site footer, and hide it on the page that already has the form:

html
<fs-guest-card mode="button" hide-on="/visit"></fs-guest-card>

A banner at the bottom of every page:

html
<fs-guest-card
  mode="banner"
  position="bottom"
banner-text="First time with us? Let us know you're coming."
  hide-on="/visit"
></fs-guest-card>

What guests fill in

  • Always asked: first name, last name, email, and which service. With Service Times set up, they pick from your services in the next 4 weeks, or "I'm not sure yet". Without it, they can give a date and a time.
  • Optional, if you turn them on: mobile phone; who's coming (number of adults, and up to 8 kids with a first name and an age range); how they heard about you; anything you should know; your own questions.

Guests can send the form with only the required fields. Afterward they see a thank-you with the service time, Add to calendar, directions and your What to expect text.

Following up

The Guests tab lists everyone who planned a visit. Filter by Upcoming, Needs follow-up (still New after their visit day) or All. Open a guest to see what they entered, mark them Contacted, Visited, No show or Archived, and add staff notes only your team sees.

Emails

  • To your team: each new guest is emailed right away to every address on the Alerts tab, with a link to follow up. Reply to the email to reach the guest.
  • To the guest: if the confirmation email is on, they get the service time in your time zone, your address with directions, What to expect and a calendar invite. Replies go to your church's contact email.

Notes

  • Spam: the form has spam checks and limits on how often one person can send it.
  • Duplicates: if the same email plans the same service again within 24 hours, Firesky updates the first entry instead of adding a second.
  • Privacy: only the first name and age range are asked for kids. Guest records are kept. Archive a guest to move them out of your Upcoming and Needs follow-up lists.
  • Closing the banner: a guest who closes the banner won't see it again for 14 days on that device.
  • Address and time zone come from your Church Profile.

Requirements

  • The Guest Card widget on your church (Website plan)
  • Allowed origins in Dashboard → Settings → Allowed origins
  • The Firesky widget script installed on the page
  • Optional: Service Times for the list of upcoming services
