Latest Sermon
A hero-style widget that highlights your most recent sermon. It picks the latest YouTube item from your Media Library and shows it as a two-column card: thumbnail on the left, info and a call-to-action on the right.

Supported providers
- Firesky: Latest Sermon shows content from your Media Library. You need the Media Library widget, with some sermons in it, for Latest Sermon to work.

Replace /sermons with the path on your site where the Media Library widget is embedded. The CTA button and the thumbnail link to that sermon on the page.

Behavior
- Picks the most recent YouTube item from any series whose type is Sermons and videos.
- With
library-url, the thumbnail opens the sermon on your library page. Without it, the thumbnail links to YouTube (in a new tab by default). Hovering the thumbnail shows a subtle lift effect. - If the video has a known duration, a duration pill (e.g.
38:42) appears in the bottom-right of the thumbnail. - The info column shows the series title, item subtitle (if any), and date as a meta row, followed by the sermon title, speaker name, and the CTA button.
- If no qualifying item exists (no sermons series, no YouTube items), the widget renders nothing.
Managing content
Content is managed in Dashboard → Widgets → Media Library. Add or update series and videos there. The Latest Sermon widget always reflects the most recently dated YouTube item in a Sermons and videos series, with no extra configuration needed.
Requirements
- The Media Library widget, with at least one Sermons and videos series that has a YouTube video.
- Add allowed origins in Dashboard → Settings → Allowed origins.
- Embed the Firesky script before using the widget.
Use case
Place this on your church homepage to give visitors immediate access to the latest message without navigating to the full sermon archive.
